In the Super 8, Irland all their matches, New Zealand beat them with a margin of 83 runs. Lost to Sri Lanka by 9 runs and a 39 runs defeat against Pakistan.

2012 T20 World Cup edition was not good for the Irish Team as one of their crucial matches washed out. Australia beat Ireland in the first match by seven wickets, and the second match against West Indies remained no result.
