Like other teams, South Africa is also searching for a combo that could work well under those unfavorable conditions. So, the T20 World Cup South Africa squad is going to be discussed in the following lines.
South African team is not carrying the extra bag of being Favorites. This can help in their cause. In the past, South Africa always participated as a favorite. But we all know that they choke at the very last minute. The reason is that they can’t bear the pressure of the situation. So, their under rating may positively help them.
South Africa Squad for the T20 World Cup has been announced. The team misses out on some experienced players like Imran Tahir, former captain du Plessis, and all-rounder Morris. The mega event was initially scheduled in India, but now it will be held in the UAE and Oman. Like other teams, South Africa may also struggle so that the officials have studded the squad with more seniors and spinners.
Keeping a close eye on the conditions in the UAE and Oman, the South African team management injected the team with more spinning options. Tabraiz Shamsi, Bjorn Fortuin, along Maharaj are three frontline spinners for the team.
Here is the List of the Team
Full squad: Temba Bavuma (c), Keshav Maharaj, Quinton de Kock (wk), Bjorn Fortuin, Reeza Hendricks, Heinrich Klaasen, Aiden Markram, David Miller, W Mulder, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Dwaine Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi, Rassie van der Dussen
Well, the team looks solid on paper. It seems South Africa has got every resource. Experienced and destructive top-order, the middle-order is also a solid one. In fact, middle-order has got some killer batters. The All-rounder’s department of the team looks compact.
The bowling attack is a good mixture of fast and furious bowlers. The left-handed rest-spinner Tabraiz Shamsi and Tahir Imran can be lethal for South Africa.
Temba Bavuma will lead the troops in this mega event. It seems that South African officials think that he will handle the pressure very well. He and his team will definitely try to register their name for the first time for an ICC tournament.
The Killer Miller, if he gets going, then the % of winning decreases of the opponent. Kagiso Rabada is the X-factor in bowling for the South African Team. Ngidi will also play his part to achieve the maiden ICC T20 World Cup trophy for his team.
