Rassie van der Dussen has scored a brilliant 100 against Pakistan top quality bowling attack. He single-handedly made South Africa home, and it is the first 100 of the Warm-up matches. He scored 101 runs, not out, only facing 51 balls almost at a strike rate of 200. Quality batting from a top-class player, and he showed that anything is possible.
On the other side, Pakistan’s bowling looked flat. Though Imad Waseem and Shaheen bowled well but overall, their bowling performance was below par. This is an alarming sign for Pakistan. Though South Africa made home on the last match delivery, Pakistan could still do better.
Rassie van der Dussen what a player he is, turned the South Africa favor when they looked down and out. When he came to South Africa, he was 14 for 1, and immediately lost the other opener. At that stage, South Africa was 15 for the loss of 2 wickets and was in complete disarray.
But he and his partner tried to consolidate the inning. At one stage in the 8th over of the inning, South Africa only managed to add 40 odd runs. But after that, it was all hitting sixes and fours.
Rassie van der Dussen made unbeaten 101 runs facing 51 balls. His strike rate was phenomenal, and he scored at 198.03 SR, which is fantastic. He played ten fours using the ground route, and 4 balls were sent to the crowd by the aerial route. His inning was an example of patience and hard-hitting. These qualities make a player a real fighter who does not remain strong and calm under tense situations.
South Africa demolished Pakistan in this warm-up match. Though there were a few sparkles for the Pakistan team, it is alarming; if the bowlers can’t defend such a massive total, they have to change their strategy.
Losing a match at this stage is good for Pakistan, and it will show Pakistani bowlers their strengths and weaknesses. Pakistan will play the coming game against a big giant team, India. India has an even better batting lineup than South Africa how Pakistan will tackle India on the 24th of this month.
