Afghanistan announced the squad for the coming T20 World Cup 2021. That’s fine. It was expected as 10th September is the last of submitting the squads. But hold on, announcing squad by ACB is not the News. The News is that Rashid Khan, the Captain of the Afghan team, has now resigned from leading the team in the mega event. What happened that lead Rashid Khan to quit the leadership.
After a few minutes of the Afghanistan Squad announcement for the coming T20 World, the Captain immediately stepped down from the team’s captaincy. He claimed that Afghan cricket did not consult him before announcing the team that is why he resigned from the captaincy of the Afghan Cricket Team.

According to Rashid Khan, “The selection committee has not obtained my consent for the team that ACB media announced. I am deciding to step down from the role as the Captain Afghanistan T20 side effective immediately. It’s always my pride play for Afghanistan.”
We have seen such decisions from the management that do not make any sense. Such findings not only affect the Captain of a team but also down the overall morale of players. This is a massive tournament, and Captain is the most crucial team who cares about the aspects. So, every management team has to consult the Captain before finalizing the team.
As we have seen in the case of Pakistan, the chief selector selected a team lacking inexperience. That is why everyone from Pakistan rejected the selection. And, the board is thinking to revise its decision.
Cricket boards have to realize that the Captain of a team is the main person who shoulders all the ups and downs of his team. So, selectors have to give a fair to Captain to select his team and fight the way he wants.
