Pakistan won the first warm-up match at ICCA Dubai, Oct 18, 2021, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Warm-up Matches. West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first. The batting powerhouse team West Indies was thought to score a brickly, but the Pakistan bowling attack did not allow the West Indian team to score freely. At the end of the inning, West Indies only set a target of 131 runs to lose seven wickets.

No West Indian batter batted well in their inning. There were a few starts, but no one could capitalize on those starts to made a big score and put Pakistan under pressure. The top scorer of the West Indies inning was 28 runs from the bat of Hetmyer. A little cameo from captain Pollard helped the team to reach 130 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

The reply from Pakistan was so impressive. Pakistan was a bit slow at the start. The inning picked pace after three overs, and Pakistan chased down the target in 15.3 overs.

Muhammad Rizwan made 13 runs. The star batters of the inning were the Pakistani captain Babar Azam who scored 50 runs facing 41 balls, and Fakhar Zaman scored 46 facing 24 balls. Malik and Fakhar finished the match in 15.3 overs. A thumping victory for Pakistan and West Indies have to regather themselves for the next warm-up game.

Pakistan won by 7 wickets leaving 27 balls.
