ICC T20 World Cup 2021 was initially announced in India. A total of nine venues were announced to stage the matches of the World Cup. But due to Covid-19 devastating situation of the country forced the organizers to think about Backup plans. And eventually, at the start of July, the organizers decided to shift the mega event to the UAE and Oman.
ICC announced a new grouping for the 8 participating teams. The governing body selects four venues for both rounds round1 which is the qualifying round and Super 12 that is the main round of the world cup 2021. West Indies, Australia, England, South Africa, and the two qualifying teams are in a group1, and Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and the other two qualifying teams are in this group.
Four venues are selected for the coming ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Dubai International Stadium, the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the Sharjah Stadium, and the Oman Cricket Academy Ground. Super 12 round will be played in the UAE, and the Qualifying round will be played in Oman.
The Oman Cricket Academy Ground, also known as Al Amerat Cricket Stadium, will host all the qualifying round matches. The opening match is on 17th October between Sri Lanka and Ireland. The host will take on PNG on 18th October. The round will come to an end on 23rd October.

This is a small ground that can only handle a few thousand spectators. But still, it is a significant achievement for Oman to stage such a big event. More importantly, they are participating in the event, which is an excellent opportunity for the hosts.
