Australia is one of the top t20 teams. In the beginning, the team looked flat and was not performing well. But after the 2010 T20 World Cup edition, the Australian team looked like a real T20 team beating Pakistan, the defending champion, twice in the same edition. In the Semi-Final, they chased down a mammoth total of 191 against one of the most dangerous balling attacks. On the other hand, South Africa did not approve of its ability at the big stage. So, in the coming lines, we will explain Aus vs. SA head-to-head encounters in the ICC T20 World Cup till now.
Once in the history of the T20 World Cup, both of the teams faced each other. In the last editions, six of the T20 World Cup just one encounter is not fair.
It was September 30th, Australia won the toss. They decided to bowl first and restrict the South African team to a modest total of 146/5. The top scorer on the side was Robin Peterson. His 32 runs not cameo helped South Africa to reach a fighting total of 146 runs. Xavier Doherty bowled brilliantly. He bowled four overs, giving away just 20 runs, and got 3 wickets.
Australia remained positive during the chase because such a total usually traps chasing teams. Sometimes the chasing team could not decide whether to attack or save wickets for the end. But Australia was too smart in the chasing. They gave license to their informed batsmen Shane Watson to have a go. And Shane Watson did what he was sent for. He scored 70 crucial runs for his team, facing 47 balls.
The Morne Morkel got one for 23 runs in his four overs. Australia got to the target in 17.4 overs, losing two wickets. South Africa could not manage to win a single match in this round. Australia qualifies for the Semi-Final.
Both Australia and South Africa are good teams. But the recent form of the Australian is not good, which is a good sign for South Africa. So, it will be difficult to predict which team will have a greater chance of winning the match.
